Helplines in North Macedonia
If someone is in danger, call 112, the single emergency number, or 192 for the police. This register doesn't yet list a national emotional-support line for North Macedonia, so in a crisis 112 is the place to start, at any hour.
The services listed here work in Macedonian, and none of them states that it offers English. If you don't speak Macedonian, call anyway. Emergency services usually find a way to help, and a local friend or colleague can make the first call with you if that feels easier.
Anyone experiencing domestic violence can call the national SOS line on 15 315, open 24/7 and run by Crisis Centre Nadež. Support is confidential and anonymous. Shelter addresses are kept confidential for safety, and the helpline is the safe way to arrange a place. Children, teenagers and parents can get psychosocial and legal counselling from Alo Bushavko on 070 390 632, run by the First Children's Embassy Megjashi, with a chat option on its website. LGBTI+ people can call the national line run by Skopje Queer Center on 075 24 11 24, on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12:00 to 16:00, as a first step towards psychosocial or legal support.
If you are on a foreign SIM, dial the local numbers as shown, or the international versions listed below. 112 is listed as an emergency number here and works from mobiles. Each number was checked at its official source, and the date of that check is shown next to it.
