Helplines in Moldova

If anyone is in immediate danger, call 112 for an ambulance, the police or the fire service. This register has not confirmed a national telephone line for emotional support, but Linia Verde pentru Prevenirea Suicidului accepts messages at any hour through its website, with volunteer counsellors who focus on suicidal thoughts and crisis.

Most services here work in Romanian. The exception is that online suicide prevention service, which lists Romanian, English and Russian. If you need help by phone and don't speak Romanian, call 112 in an emergency anyway; emergency services usually find a way to help.

Women and girls affected by violence can call the Trust Line run by La Strada on 0 8008 8008, free, every day. It offers psychological, legal and information counselling and can refer you on. The Women's Law Centre Green Line on 0 8008 0000 gives free legal and specialist advice, Monday to Friday from 08:30 to 17:30. Shelter addresses are kept confidential, and these lines can help arrange a safe place. Children and young people can call Telefonul Copilului on 116 111 at any hour, by phone, chat or email. Parents worried about a child can call too.

If you are on a foreign SIM, dial the numbers as shown; the Trust Line also lists +373 22 240 624. 112 is listed for Moldova and works from any phone. Each number was checked at its official source, with the date shown.
