Helplines in Czechia

In an emergency, call 112, or 155 for an ambulance. For a confidential conversation, the Linka první psychické pomoci answers on 116 123, free and around the clock, and it also runs an anonymous chat. It is there for adults dealing with panic, anxiety, depression, loss or any sudden difficulty.

The helplines in this list work in Czech, and none of them says it offers English. If Czech is hard for you, ask someone you trust to call with you. In an emergency, call 112 regardless: operators are used to callers who don't speak Czech and will usually find a way to help.

If you are experiencing domestic violence, Linka pomoci obětem (Bílý kruh bezpečí) is free and open 24/7 on 116 006; it is also the DONA domestic violence line. The proFem information line (608 222 277) supports people who have experienced domestic or sexual violence. Shelter addresses are kept confidential, so the helpline is the safe way in and can arrange a place. Children and students up to 26 can call Linka bezpečí on 116 111 at any hour. Parents worried about a child can ring the Rodičovská linka on 606 021 021, and older people and their carers can call Linka seniorů on 800 200 007, daily from 8:00 to 20:00. There are also lines for eating disorders and for quitting alcohol, drugs or gambling.

Dial these numbers as shown. 112 works on any phone in the EU, including on a foreign SIM. Every number was checked at its official source, and the date is shown beside it.
