Helplines in Denmark

In an emergency, call 112 for an ambulance, the fire service or the police. If you are having thoughts of suicide, or you are worried about someone, Livslinien answers on 70 201 201 every day from 09:00 to 05:00, anonymously. For a broader conversation about your mental health, Psykiatrifonden Telefonrådgivning is free on 39 25 25 25.

Most Danish helplines work in Danish only. The clear exception is the Lev Uden Vold National Hotline on 1888, which offers English and can bring in an interpreter for other languages. For other services, if Danish is hard for you, call 112 in an emergency anyway; emergency services usually find a way to help.

Anyone affected by violence from a partner, or by rape, can call Lev Uden Vold on 1888 at any hour, free and anonymously. Relatives and professionals can call too. Shelter addresses are kept confidential, and the hotline can help arrange a safe place. Children and young people can talk to BørneTelefonen on 116 111, 24/7, by phone or chat. LGBT+ Danmark offers free counselling on 33 13 19 48 on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday evenings, 18:00 to 20:00. Somenta Rådgivning on 70 10 18 18 supports people affected by an eating disorder or self-harm, and their relatives. Alkolinjen on 80 200 500 is there for drinking worries.

On a foreign SIM, dial the numbers as shown; 112 works on any phone across the EU. Each number was checked at its official source, with the date shown.
