Support services in Barcelona

If you are in danger right now, call 112. If you are having suicidal thoughts, Spain's 024 line is free and answers day and night. In a mental health emergency, go to a 24-hour hospital emergency department, such as Hospital de Sant Pau, which has round-the-clock psychiatric emergency care, or Hospital Clínic. For a social emergency at any hour, including violence at home, the CUESB answers on 900 703 030.

Women facing gender-based violence can call the Generalitat's free 900 900 120 line, open around the clock with help in 124 languages, or the national 016 service, which answers in English among many other languages. The City of Barcelona's own violence services and its women's information points (PIAD) offer free legal advice and psychological support by appointment on 900 922 357. You do not need to find a shelter yourself; ask these services about safe accommodation.

Newcomers can get free advice on residence and asylum at SAIER, and LGBTQ+ people can book free emotional and legal support at the Centre LGTBI.
