Helplines in Singapore

In a life-threatening medical situation, call 995 for an ambulance, or 999 for the police. If you are thinking about suicide, or are worried about someone, the Samaritans of Singapore (SOS) answer on 1767, 24/7. You can also message SOS CareText on WhatsApp at 9151 1767. For any mental health concern, national mindline 1771 is a first stop at any hour that helps you work out what you need, or you can reach it on WhatsApp at 6669 1771.

The register only records languages where the service states them. The AWARE Women's Helpline lists English, Mandarin, Malay and Tamil. For the other lines, the official pages checked did not state languages, so it's best to call and ask.

Women can talk to the AWARE Women's Helpline on 1800 777 5555, Monday to Friday from 10am to 6pm, for emotional support and access to counselling and a legal clinic. PAVE, a family violence specialist centre, is on 6555 0390 during office hours. Shelter addresses are kept confidential, and the helpline arranges places. Primary school children aged 13 and below can call Tinkle Friend on 1800 274 4788, on weekday afternoons.

If you are using a foreign SIM, dial the numbers as shown, and remember that several services also offer chat or WhatsApp. Each number was checked at its official source, and the date of that check is shown with each entry.
