Support services in Vienna

If you are in danger right now, call the police on 133 or the ambulance on 144. For a mental health crisis at any hour, the city's social psychiatric emergency service (PSD, 01 31330) answers day and night.

Women affected by violence can call the City of Vienna's 24-hour women's emergency line, which offers counselling in English, or the Vienna women's shelters hotline (05 77 22). The shelter team arranges places and interpreters, so you do not need to know where a shelter is. The Gewaltschutzzentrum Wien supports anyone facing violence at home or stalking.

For non-urgent help, the Kriseninterventionszentrum offers free crisis counselling; its website has an English page and says interpreters can be arranged for counselling sessions. Several migrant women's organisations below counsel in English as well as German. Most services ask you to phone first to arrange an appointment.
